
Ms. Mehr Husain
Supervisor - Grade 1
Ms. Mehr Husain is a passionate, committed, and highly experienced educator with more than three decades of distinguished service in education, including an exceptional 38-year tenure at GEMS Our Own English High School, Dubai. She began her professional journey in 1987 as a Primary School teacher and has consistently demonstrated unwavering dedication to student development, academic excellence, and collaborative leadership.
Over the years, Ms. Husain has progressed into key leadership positions, most notably as Grade Supervisor, where she successfully leads and mentors a team of nearly 45 teachers while overseeing the academic progress and holistic development of approximately 900 students. Her leadership philosophy centers on teamwork, professional empowerment, and the creation of a positive, inclusive learning environment that nurtures both students and educators.
A firm believer in leading by example, Ms. Husain has played a significant role in strengthening student wellbeing and school culture. She has served as Grade Coordinator, Assistant Supervisor, and Primary School House Mistress for many years, guiding students toward holistic growth through academic, social, and co-curricular engagement.
In addition to her academic leadership responsibilities, she serves as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for Grade 1, actively promoting child protection, emotional wellbeing, and student safety. She has also facilitated numerous Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshops, contributing meaningfully to teacher capacity building and pedagogical innovation.
Ms. Husain has received multiple recognitions and certificates of excellence from senior school leadership and the Chairman of GEMS Education, Mr. Sunny Varkey, honoring her exemplary professionalism, dedication, and sustained contributions to educational excellence. Through her service-driven leadership and mentorship, she continues to leave a lasting impact on generations of learners and educators.
